The SHEL LAB SMI Series brings high-performance temperature control to general-purpose microbiology applications — without the cost or complexity of application-specific systems. With chamber sizes ranging from 2 to 38.6 cu. ft., these incubators deliver superior thermal uniformity in a compact, stackable form factor.

Unlike traditional incubators, the SMI Series uses a unique warm-air jacket design with triple-wall construction — eliminating the need for interior fans or blowers. This not only reduces the risk of cross-contamination but also prevents sample drying while maintaining uniform temperatures across the chamber.

Engineered with five strategically placed heating elements and a heated outer door, the SMI incubators maintain ±0.35°C uniformity at 37°C, even when fully loaded.
